Remember my road trip to Fife with Sarah?

It was all kinds of wonderful – and I discovered so many special places. There are hundreds of things you should do in Fife, but here are 9 things you MUST do in Fife 👍🏻

9 Things You Must Do In Fife

St Andrews Cathedral is a ruined Roman Catholic cathedral in St Andrews. It was built in 1158 yet fell into disuse and ruin after Catholic mass was outlawed during the 16th-century Scottish Reformation.

The ruins prove to be a peaceful spot for a morning stroll, and can easily be link inked into a visit to St Andrews Castle. Which is exactly what I did on my recent visit 🚶

Afternoon Tea at Eden Mansion

You can read all about why you should visit Eden Mansion in an earlier post. It’s wonderful – I promise!

Jannettas Gelateria

We were treated to Jannettas Gelateria ice-cream during my recent trip to Fife. The pear and blackberry sorbet is one of the nicest frozen goods I’ve ever tried 🍦 I will most certainly hunt their St Andrews shop out on a return visit!

St Andrews Harbour

A very special spot for some much needed relaxation. I took myself off for a walk here in the middle of the afternoon when I began feeling a little over peopled. I could see myself living in one of the surrounding house and staring out to sea for hours on end!

Fine Dining at The Newport

The Newport is a site to behold. Perched on the seafront of Newport-on-Tay with views usually reserved for my day dreams; this is somewhere you have to visit if you need a treat whilst in Fife. 2014 MasterChef the Professionals champion Jamie Scott opened The Newport in March this year. 🍴 Having been awarded 2 AA Rosettes within only 6 weeks of being open , it is clear to see Jamie is onto a good thing! His passion for local produce means the menu is jam packed with goodness from Fife, and the wider area.

When I visited we were treated to a superb tasting menu that I am unlikely to forget in a hurry. Above you can see Buckwheat, Flowers and Curds. 🌸 A stunningly beautiful dish – with wonderful cool curds accompanied by crisp buckwheat crackers. Another dish that truly charmed me what the Starr Farm Beef – smoked shoulder… I can’t even begin to explain how on point this dish was! #FeedMeMore

Eden Mill Distillery

Do you love gin? Of course you love gin… doesn’t everyone right now? And what better way to enjoy gin than at a local distillery, learning more about production. And tasting. Of course! But gin isn’t all Eden Mill Distillery have mastered. Beer, gin and whisky tours are available here – and each an every one of them promise a good time, with more than a couple of tasters 👌🏼

I recommend trying the Hop gin! It may smell a little odd, but it tastes like a cosy night in by the fire. Im plotting a bottle of my very own – strongly encouraged by the beautiful ceramic bottle 😍

Also a shout out for Kingsbarns Distillery. Some of the other bloggers visited and had only the best things to say!

Sunrise at West Sands, St Andrews

Sunrise. On the Beach 🌅 With St Andrews Golf Club as your backdrop. Need I say anymore? #Heavenly

St Andrews Farmhouse Cheese Company

Cheese. It’s my favourite food group. And a tasting dedicated to cheese? PERFECT.

During my visit to St Andrews Farmhouse Cheese Company I spotted their cafe menu and am dying to return. I spied macaroni cheese on the menu… After tasting their wonderful range of cheese I can only assume it will be AWESOME 🧀

Balgove Flower Shed

Balgove Larder is a wonderful destination just outside St Andrews. Not only can you stock up on superb deli produce, and eat yourself happy on sublime home grown meat – but you can also fall in love with their Flower Shed. So many of us have a soft spot for greenery and this place is the perfect place to add to your collection. I couldn’t help but sweep up 3 little cacti to bring home. 🌵 Morag, Hamish and Angus. My little Scottish Children!

I’m plotting a return visit to Fife as soon as possible! Do let me know all about your favourite spots – I’m keen to explore your favourite places ⛴
