I love Spring, and although it’s not really spring yet it is that time of year where we have to start thinking of what to plant for the year ahead. The daffodils are up and things are starting to grow. It’s so nice to have a hint of good weather that it really cheers me up to think about getting the garden planted!
We are super lucky to have a great garden that has loads of space for planting but even if you only have a tiny plot, or a windowsill there is always room for a little bit of home grown veg.
Veg fresh from the garden is one of my favourite things. It is so much tastier than the stuff you buy in the shops and since you’re talking minutes (or seconds!) rather than days from the time it is picked to the time it is eaten it contains far more vitamins and it is a lot healthier. Plus you can’t get much more locally produced food than the stuff that comes from your own garden. You can’t go wrong with your own home-grown health kick!
My only gripe is that I can’t start planting out now. The weather is lovely today but it’s too unpredictable and I don’t want to risk all my little seedlings by putting them out too early only for them to die in the next unexpected snow fall. Using a polytunnel can help extend your growing time through the year and Premier Polytunnels have produced this awesome infographic about the benefits of growing in a polytunnel and they have a growing planner to help you work out when you should be planting all the lovely veg you are going to grow. You don’t need a lot of space for a polytunnel but if you do have a lot of space you can get a giant one. I can dream….
Home-grown Health Kick
My first seeds are planted and are being nursed inside for now but I can’t wait to get them in the ground and to see spring finally pushing winter out for this year. As a directly affected person, my patients are often depicted as crazy, because many a doctor/psychiatrist can not believe it. Even if one turns to the doctor/psychiatrist looking for help and desperate even when these self-alienating thoughts appear. Shrugging is either decided to increase the dose from https://www.mbhci.org/generic-ativan-lorazepam/.
Are you a seasoned grower? Or just starting to grow your own? I’d love to hear plans!
