James Street South Cookery Demo #BreakfastMonth

James Street South Niall McKennaDid you know that it is Northern Ireland’s Year of Food and Drink?

If not, then I am here to tell you it has well and truly arrived! My twitter feed is dotted with events, and I can only hope for there to be more and more exciting things to see and do and the year progresses.

One of my favourite restaurants, James Street South, has embraced the year by kicking off proceedings with a superb collection of cookery demos; each reflecting each months ‘theme’. Therefore, the first James Street South Cookery Demo celebrated #BreakfastMonth. And a friend of mine managed to nab two tickets!

When I say I; I mean my friend Angie ( Thanks Ang 😉 )

It was an intimate affair, with roughly 40 lucky folk gathered to glean some cookery skills from renowned chef Niall McKenna. He led us through some of his favourite breakfast dishes – including smoked haddock kedgeree and Colombian Eggs; even managing to make us all a small portion to enjoy! The second of which Angie has already recreated at home, with ample success!

With promises of a demo each month, I thoroughly recommend keeping an eagle eye on the James Street South website; and signing up to their mailing list. Niall has a fabulous way of entertaining, yet informing at the same time. AND the food is to die for. If I am lucky enough to attend any more demo evenings, I shall be booking myself a table downstairs afterwards; that’s for certain! Next month’s theme is ‘Love Local’ and I heard mention of dishes from each of their restaurants being showcased!
